Jean-Marie van der Elst to Speak at TAKUKA Conference 2026
Econ One Managing Director Jean-Marie van der Elst will participate as a speaker at the TAKUKA Conference 2026, taking place October 5-9, 2026, at Diamond Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in Diani, Kenya.
Organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch in partnership with the African Arbitration Association, the conference will bring together arbitration and ADR practitioners, judges, policymakers, corporate leaders, academics, and international stakeholders to discuss the evolving dispute resolution landscape in Africa. This year’s theme is “Africa Decides: Sovereignty, Innovation and the Future of Dispute Resolution.”
Jean-Marie will participate in the October 7 panel, “ESG Disputes and Africa’s Natural Resources: Is the Continent Ready for What Is Coming?” The session is part of the conference’s “Deciding Differently” program, which examines emerging issues and tools shaping dispute resolution across Africa.
