Brief 1
As a member of an international consortium, Econ One assisted in the establishment of the Nigerian Electric Regulatory Commission, an independent regulatory body that will govern the electricity industry. This commission will play an increasingly critical role in the next few years when the national electric utility is expected to be unbundled and privatized. Econ One’s contributions to the project included developing the Commission’s accounting and operational procedures manual, financial management reporting systems, IT systems and overall physical resource requirements.
