Eduardo Padilla v. Regency Park Senior Living

In this wage & hour lawsuit, the plaintiff alleged that he should have been classified as an hourly non-exempt (rather than salary exempt) employee, and thus was entitled to compensation relating to overtime and missed meal and rest breaks.

Econ One was retained by counsel for the plaintiff to estimate damages for purposes of mediation. Dr. Brian Kriegler analyzed several years of timekeeping and payroll records to estimate the total number of missed meal and rest breaks, the amount of uncompensated overtime, and corresponding interest. The mediation resulted in a settlement prior to trial.
