State of California, ex rel. Ven-A-Care of the Florida Keys v. Abbott Laboratories, Inc., et al.

Average Wholesale Price (ā€œAWPā€) serves as a benchmark from which state Medicaid programs reimburse pharmacies for providing pharmaceuticals to Medicaid participants.Ā  The plaintiffs allege that pharmaceutical manufacturers routinely inflated the AWPs they reported to trade publications, causing the plaintiffs to overpay for Medicaid reimbursements.

Econ One was retained by the State of California on behalf of the plaintiffs in State of California, ex rel. Ven-A-Care of the Florida Keys v. Abbott Laboratories, Inc., et al. Econ One expert Jeffrey Leitzinger submitted multiple expert reports analyzing the Medicaid reimbursements made by the plaintiffs. Dr. Leitzinger also provided deposition testimony.
