Join us in welcoming Senior Advisor Payal Malik.

We are pleased to announce Ms. Payal Malik is joining us as a Senior Advisor.  Ms. Malik was most recently the Head of the Economics Division and Economic Advisor at the Competition Commission of India, a position she held for ten years between 2012-2023.

Ms. Malik specializes in the economics of regulation and public policy.  Her work has encompassed various industries including digital markets, e-commerce, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, finance and investment, and entertainment.

Ms. Malik has led case teams on economic assessment of high-profile mergers & acquisitions, and antitrust investigations.  She has advised the Competition Commission of India on the judicial review of cases before the appellate tribunal and the Supreme Court of India.

In addition, Ms. Malik was the Convener of the Working Group on New Age Economy and Bigdata constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India (GoI), for the competition law review committee (CLRC). She was also nominated as a member of the task force of the GoI formulating the ecommerce policy of India and member of a sub-group of the Committee on Digital Competition law (CDCL).

Ms. Malik is a Visiting Professor at the Digital Economy, Startup and Innovation Centre, ICRIER, a Delhi based policy think tank.
