Shellee Harrison v. Angela Hutchins and Alexander Motors, LLC

In June 2020, plaintiff/motorist Shellee Harrison filed a lawsuit against another motorist and a related defendant for personal damages arising from an automobile accident.  The lawsuit, Shellee Harrison v. Angela Hutchins and Alexander Motors, LLC (20-CV-27), filed in the Circuit Court of Hardin County, Tennessee, alleged that the other motorist was not only at fault, but was operating her employer’s vehicle on a business errand, making the employer vicariously liable for Ms. Harrison’s economic damages.  Dr. D.C. Sharp, an Econ One expert experienced in personal injury and wrongful death matters, was retained by counsel for the plaintiff.

In 2024, Dr. Sharp was asked to calculate the present value of economic damages to Ms. Harrison, a long-time employee of Packaging Corporation of America, who could no longer perform her previous job functions.  Relying on the report submitted by a vocational expert, Dr. Sharp calculated the present value of Ms. Harrison’s lost income and benefits.  Dr. Sharp provided testimony at trial regarding his findings on January 29, 2025 and a jury verdict in Ms. Harrison’s favor was rendered on January 31, 2025.
