United States ex rel. Ana v. Winter Park Urology Assocs., P.A.
Econ One expert Brian Kriegler was retained in United States ex rel. Ana v. Winter Park Urology Assocs., P.A.. In this qui tam lawsuit, the plaintiff alleged that his former employer, a medical provider, violated the False Claims Act by engaging in a widespread practice of making referrals in violation of the Florida Patient Self-Referral Act (PSRA).
Econ One expert Brian Kriegler submitted an expert report in which he estimated the total number of false claims in violation of the PSRA and the corresponding amount paid by Medicare on such claims. Dr. Kriegler also provided deposition testimony. The case settled prior to trial.
