Managing Director to Speak at 6th African Arbitration Association Annual Conference in Cairo

Econ One is pleased to announce that our Managing Director, Jean-Marie van der Elst, will serve as a panelist at the 6th African Arbitration Association (AfAA) Annual Conference, taking place in Cairo from October 10–12, 2025. This year’s conference, themed ā€œRethinking Arbitration in the Changing International Landscape: African Challenges and Perspectives,ā€ will bring together leading experts and practitioners from across the globe.

Jean-Marie will join distinguished panelists including Godwin Omaka SAN, Damian James, Donia El-Mazghouny, Diane Okoko, and Aboubacr Fall to discuss ā€œEnergy Transition and ESG in African Disputesā€ā€”a topic of growing importance in the field of international arbitration, particularly within the African context.

We are also pleased to share that our Director, Marian Portero Collado, will be attending the conference.

The conference will provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities with leading professionals in the industry. Econ One is honored to contribute to these important conversations shaping the future of arbitration in Africa and beyond.

There is still time to register and join the event. For the full programme and registration details, please visit:
