Rafael Pereyra Lago is a Director at Econ One in the International Arbitration Group, based in Madrid, Spain.  Rafael specializes in economic and financial evaluation of the environmental and socioeconomic impact of infrastructure projects, as well as sustainable programs for the integration of technology and business processes.

Rafael has a track record of managing multidisciplinary programs with internationally distributed teams. This includes leading expert teams, advisory and expert witness roles in international arbitration tribunals.

Previous roles and areas of expertise within the information technology domain include leading consulting practices (Professional services) for international service providers (telecommunications, enterprise system suppliers) and integrators, program management, and corporate process technology integration architecture. This experience was focused on the oil & gas, technology, supply chain and logistics, and FMCG industry sectors.  Areas of technical expertise include distributed and cloud computing, Blockchain architecture, service technology integration (specifically corporate M&A scenarios), and corporate IT strategic planning.

Rafael has an MBA from IE in Madrid and academic degrees in Marine Biology with a specialization in environmental conservation, and an academic and scientific career spanning 20 years, with more than thirty articles published in peer-reviewed journals. During this period, Rafael was instrumental in helping the Government of South Africa define and implement the country’s environmental conservation and management policies and legislation. Rafael is retained as editorial review peer for national and international scientific journals.

Rafael holds professional certifications in Prince2, MSP and ITIL project management methodologies and services and is a Lean Six-Sigma black belt.
