Edo Macan is a Managing Director at Econ One Research Inc. and an international expert in quantitative analysis of electric and natural gas markets.Ā Edo leads an Energy Economics practice and has 25 years of experience advising utilities, attorneys, and investors on economic and financial issues in the energy markets.Ā Edo regularly advises attorneys, electric utilities, and power producers on energy finance matters, market structure and regulatory issues, resource planning, decarbonization, energy hedging strategies, and portfolio risk management. Ā Most of his work recently involves stochastic analysis of energy markets, decarbonization, asset valuation, portfolio optimization, and energy risk management.
Edo is also a seasoned testifying expert on market power issues who has successfully supported some of the largest electric utility mergers in U.S. He testified in numerous FERC proceedings on behalf of electric utilities, power producers, and private equity clients on energy market power issues, energy merger analysis and market-based rate matters, and has been a principal investigator in several market manipulation investigations including FERCās investigation of Western Energy Crisis.
Prior to consulting, Edo was an Associate Director of Corporate Risk Management at Duke Energy in Houston, where he led power price forecasting group and directed fundamentals analysis for Dukeās portfolio in North America.
